A reference for all those interested in Atex and UK1 hazardous area (Hazloc) requirements and equipment. Starting with basic principles the intention is to clarify a lot of misunderstanding about Hazardous areas and equipment including changes now we have finally left the EU.
Formerly a private site for training purposes, www.hazardex.com is now public and, as many still do not full understand the diffences between the UK regulation and Atex, it include a specific section on Brexit and UKCA Hazardous area Certification.
It is an ongoing project and does not currently deal with cover Group I Mining equipment or details of the design requirements of apparatus for a Type Certificate application, perhaps that will follow.
